Hope Lab Tonight!
Following the Thread: Living into our Values
Hi friends! Good news: Hope Lab is on tonight! 🎉
We’re going to pick up where we left off in our conversations about values and self-identity with an exercise that I really love. Rather than just asking “What are my values?” we’re going to explore what it actually looks like to live them - and how they can become a compass when life gets messy, uncertain, or overwhelming.
One of the things I find fascinating is that most of us can list a dozen values we like, but narrowing them down to the ones that truly organize our lives? And then checking in to see whether we are actually doing that in any way? That’s where things get really interesting. We’ll spend some time exploring that together, and I think you’re going to come away with a much clearer sense of what grounds you when the world feels a little wobbly. Which, I mean. It just does right now.
Also, I’m sorry for the confusion last week!
I’m in the middle of my Holy Cross summer intensive, which meets immediately before Hope Lab, and apparently I have once again fallen victim to the annual illusion that I can fit approximately 47 hours into a 24-hour day.
Also, I’ve been launching my K-12 Resilience Builders curriculum this summer (more on that later!), and last week I was facilitating a training that went straight through Hope Lab. I posted an update beforehand, but it made me realize that not everyone knows where those updates live.
If Hope Lab is ever canceled, delayed, the Zoom changes, Mercury goes into retrograde, or I accidentally get trapped inside a conference hotel ballroom, I’ll always post updates in the Chat section here on Substack. That’s our little community bulletin board, and it’s the fastest place to check if you’re ever wondering what’s going on. Here’s the link so you can bookmark it:
This summer has been gloriously chaotic in the best possible way. I’ve been teaching, speaking, writing, coaching, traveling, building curriculum, and having that thing where you wake up and it’s dark and you have to spend 58 seconds figuring out where you are waking up. Home? That Airbnb? The other Airbnb?
The good news is that all of this work keeps feeding Hope Lab. So many of the ideas we’re exploring together are things I’m actively teaching, researching, experimenting with, or thinking about with clients and students. I love that this space gets to be a little laboratory where we figure this stuff out together.
Ok, enough of that. I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at 5pm Pacific. Link is below for all paying members of The Hope Circuit. See you soon!
